Here are some inspirational articles to help and guide you in your journey with God.

Hearing God speak in our lives has a starting point in firstly pursuing Him in a relationship. Our earthly relationships cannot truly function healthily if they are not nurtured through time, love and communication. Our relationship with God also needs time, love and communication. Communication is not a one-way stream of water but a constant return of our love to God.

A few truths to understand God’s voice:
  • God has already spoken in history and it is relevant for today and the future. Do not disregard historical truths and words as not valuable because they were spoken in the past. God is not bound to time as we are.
  • God firstly speaks to man through Jesus Christ (Heb 1:1). Salvation in Christ is the first message that God wants each human being to know. Before we even start to prophesy we speak words of salvation in Christ to a person of it is a powerful love letter God has written to each person.
  • The Bible is our foundation in which we pursue our relationship with God in hearing His voice. The Bible is His written word and the Holy Spirit breathed upon it. God gives us experiences with Him but we can not form experiential truths if it is not word based. I encourage young prophetic voices to always study the Bible first and not pursue only people that have strong prophetic ministries but also good scholars of the words. The teaching gift in the church shapes prophetic people and raises up healthy prophetic ministers. We can not preach out of prophetic revelation but we need to preach out of the Word of God and let the Holy Spirit breathe upon it.
  • The Holy Spirit works in the conscience of man. Romans 8 speaks about the leading of the Holy Spirit with a special focus on the sanctification work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. The Holy Spirit renews us, teaches us, purifies us so we can clearly discern the will of God. Prophetic people, many times get rejected because they might have a gift but do not find having a good godly character as valuable. Learn to become sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading in sanctification and you will become more familiar with Him leading you in other areas as well.
  • The Holy Spirit speaks through our thoughts which is why a renewed mind it so important. Our mind is the starting point of many dreams, temptation, deception, revelation, purpose, identity and should be guarded with great diligence. Our heart should be guarded to not be influenced by the outward world but clearly discern the voice of God (Prov 4:23).
